HOW KYBELLA® WORKS
Kybella is composed of synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. It is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment to destroy fat cells. Kybella is a series of small injections into the area under the chin and improves your profile. When injected into the fat pad, Kybella permanently destroys the fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin and upper neck, creating a strong jawline. Further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT
A thorough evaluation is important before any cosmetic procedure. The Healthcare Provider will exam the neck, jowls, and lower face to determine if there is any skin laxity. If a patient has too much skin laxity, they may not be the best candidate for Kybella treatment.
Like laser hair removal, multiple treatment sessions are needed. Most patients see results in as little as 2 to 3 sessions. Sessions are spaced out in 4-6 week intervals.
Post-treatment swelling in the treatment area is an expected response and a sign of good results.
Along with swelling, clients may experience bruising, mild pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness (like small, green peas) in the treatment area. These side effects are temporary and can last anywhere from two days to three weeks. Swelling tends to peak at the 48-hour post-treatment mark.
